Plankton pictured by the new generation of automated flow cytometer (Cytosense)

The new Cytosense equipped with new electronics and new features is now capable to take up to several thousands of pictures of the particles as they flow in the instrument with an unprecedented quality. PRECYM, in collaboration with the KLMEES of IOCAS (Qingdao, China) and Cytobuoy (Netherlands) have collected and run some samples of plankton collected in the Bay of Marseilles thanks to a plankton net (with a 200-micron porosity mesh ; or with a 10-micron porosity). The video presented here displays a panel of flow pictures collected for a wide range of planktonic microorganisms, with a size from few microns to a millimeter.
