Modifying a regular FC500 Flow Cytometer into a hyperspectral flow cytometer

PRECYM and the Purdue University Cytometry Labs modified a FC500 flow cytometer (Beckman Coulter) with multiple lasers using the iFLEX-Viper from QIoptics. A 32-channel PMT was also installed in order to collect 32 channels of fluorescence., as described in the following article Grégori G. et al., DOI : 10.1002/cyto.a.21120.

In addition a multi-angle light scatter detector was mounted instead of the regular forward scatter detector. Of course, in order to collect all the parameters the electronics of the FC500 had to be supplemented with the electronics of the Gallios flow cytometer.
